South Dakota

The History

The Cherry Creek reservation is the oldest continually-inhabited area in South Dakota with roughly 300 people. A majority of the people are supported by welfare and spiritually it is a very dark place. The work of OBMM in Cherry Creek began in June of 1996.

VBS/Bible Study

Weekly Bible studies are conducted for three different age groups, as well as a semiannual eight week book study. Every year a summer VBS takes place with teachers coming from various parts of the US.

Prison Ministry

It was during the first three years that the prison ministry started in Eagle Butte and our ministry was looked upon by Tribal leaders as part of their rehabilitation program for the inmates.
